School’s Start From Mom’s (and Monks’) Perspective

August 28 is the first day of classes at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. That means last weekend was Move-in Day for freshmen and new students.

Watch the video above to see how Move-in Day feels to a mom, as dramatized by an incoming Benedictine College freshman under the direction of Benedictine College’s Nathan Pickman. Below, see Mary Asher’s pictures of the monks of St. Benedict’s Abbey helping students move into their back yard. Last, see pictures of the opening day Rosary (with a bonus video, too!)

And pray for our students as the school year begins!

Brother Jerome Simpson OSB was recently a Benedictine College student himself.

One of the Abbey’s newest postulants moves freshmen into the dorms 10 days after moving into the Abbey.

Author and speaker Dr. Edward Sri, who began his academic career as a professor at Benedictine College, moved his daughter in as a Freshman.

Each year, President Steve Minnis’s weekly Wednesday Morning rosary begins before the first class on the first day of school at Benedictine College.
