How to Follow Christ In a Digital Age

Join us March 29-30 for our 8th Annual Symposium on Advancing the New Evangelization, a dynamic academic forum for current and emerging leaders to share ideas and best practices. This year’s theme, “Technology and the Human Person,” examines and illuminates the impact of technology on the human person, social life, and the common good.

Symposium Travel Advisory

You may have heard about recent flooding on the Missouri River in our area.  The Symposium will continue as planned, but we want to make you aware that flooding has forced the closure of Missouri Highway 59 east of Atchison, one of the main routes to Benedictine College. Not to worry, there are plenty of alternate routes to campus. Please take a look at your route to Atchison and redirect as necessary.

Below are some suggested alternate routes to campus, with links to Google Maps for your convenience.

Arriving in Atchison from Kansas City International or Kansas City

    • Take Interstate 29 to Highway 92, crossing the river at Leavenworth, then travel north along Highway 7/73 to Atchison. Google Map
    • Take Interstate 70, then take Highway 7/73 north through Lansing and Leavenworth to Atchison. Google Map

Arriving in Atchison via St. Joseph, Mo., from northerly routes

You can check the Benedictine College website for any updates.

The Symposium

Scholars, field professionals, members of religious communities, clergy, and students will present their research and professional experiences to propose solutions to living and communicating the faith within a world dominated by technocratic thinking.

“With the primary focus being evangelization, it helps to make what you’re learning more concrete,” one Symposium participant told Catholic News Agency

“It’s nice to come and get filled so you can go back and try and do your job a bit better,” another participant said.
